Innovation and technology will continue to enhance (and sometimes complicate) our lives. When it comes to beauty, this field is no exception.
Beauty tools and devices have inundated the market as of late, and there is no relenting of this trend. More devices and tools are in the pipeline.
There is a device for most beauty concerns. Here are a few tried and tested devices for specific aims:
For deep cleaning:
Sometimes, our pores need a deep exhale. Devices that offer deep cleaning help to reduce impurities without being aggressive. Devices that use ultrasound or sonic technology will help achieve this aim.
For lifting:
Sorry. There is no at-home, OTC beauty device that will result in surgical facelift effects.
If you are satisfied with skin firming or toning, which may give the illusion of tighter (?lifted) skin, look for a device that delivers microcurrent technology.
For skin radiance:
LED lights within devices may help to reduce inflammation around acne and help to improve hyper-pigmentation.
For re-texturizing:
One of my favorites-- microdermabrasion. It offers a deep cleaning as well as a re-surfacing without being too harsh (caution how much pressure you apply).
For lymphatic massage:
Do you experience puffiness around your eyes or face? Look to a gua sha stone for DIY manual lymphatic massage. Need next-level drainage, work with a therapist specialized in manual lymphatic drainage.
For pro-aging:
As we advance in our years, collagen production slows as does skin cell turnover. Look for beauty tools uisng micro-needling to stimulate collagen production and help increase skin circulation (think rosy cheeks and a healthy glow).
Overall, using beauty tools and devices for certain results will take commitment, repeated and consistent use, and time. If you are not the patient type, consult with your plastic surgeon for expedited solutions. Otherwise, stay the non-surgical course, if you prefer, and you may find your way to beautiful, healthy skin in time.
Stay Beautiful-- inside and out!
